GCC certification in Gulf

The Gulf Cooperation Council is the most important political and economic organization in the Gulf region, referred to as the Gulf Cooperation Council or the GCC for short. The GCC was established in May 1981, with its headquarters in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Member States include the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

In December 2001, Yemen was approved to join the GCC Council of Ministers of Health, Education, Labour and Social Affairs and other institutions to participate in part of the work of the GCC. Since its establishment, all GCC member states have given full play to their advantages in terms of language, religion and economic institutions, and actively promoted the process of economic integration.

The Gulf Standardization Organization (GSO), the full name of which is the Standardization Organization of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, is a subsidiary of GCC, and is also the certification authority and regulatory authority of GCC. It is responsible for the certification and supervision of complete automobiles, motorcycles and tires entering GCC countries in the Gulf. Headquartered in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. GSO is a member of the International Organization for Standardization of IEC, ISO, OIML lamps.

GSO made a decision at the Kuwait Council of Ministers on October 12, 2004. Since January 1, 2005, GSO has inspected motor vehicles and tire products in accordance with relevant Gulf standards and issued GCC certificates. The approved GCC certificate will be valid in all GCC member countries.
